Women are insane. That is an important fact you should remember. Even write it down if you need to in order to remember it.

Women are insane.

We are so full of feelings all of the time that we can act completely and totally ridiculous at the drop of a hat. Even if you are trying to be communicative and empathetic, you never know what emotional trigger might set your lady off.

It is awesome you want to help your girl, and I think you are on the right track. Someday she may want to talk about things more. But she also may not. Everyone is different. My boy-toy will say the raunchiest things while we are getting physical, but as soon as we're done he clams up like a ... well like a clam I guess. Huh, lost track of that one. Anyways, he just isn't comfortable talking about sex outside of sex. And I've learned to be okay with that.

Not everyone loves to hear themselves talk as much as I do. ;)

Be patient, be loving, be a little bit more daring and frisky as time goes on. And never forget that women are insane (I don't mean anything bad by that, I just see it as an unalienable truth of life the universe and everything so deal). She'll get there when she gets there and she'll adore you all the more because you let her do it her way.

First things first, I have some good news: the Stallone film you're referring to is actually Demolition Man. Your conscious can rest easy now that the weight of liking a Stallone abortion has been lifted. I, too, loved the Pet Sematary film and I agree that Spike Lee is quite the hack these days. But, High Tension was only a disappointment in the last five minutes, and, even so, that doesn't really speak upon Aja's abilities as a director; the film is perhaps the most terrifying film in the past two decades. As for Spike's re-interpretation of Oldboy, I'm biased. I have a special place in my heart for Spike. "Do the Right Thing," is one of the greatest American films of all time. I guess I'm just hoping that the right project comes along for him that sparks that same kind of creativity he had in his earlier years. Call me hopeless.

i agree with 2 out of your 4 picks. 20,000 leagues with fincher directing will be a hit. judge dredd even though i kinda liked the stallone version it should be a hit ( im still wondering how you wipe your ass with 3 shells) pet semetary i really liked, and that kid was extremely creepy which in my opinion made the movie. i do like alexander aja even if high tension was a disappointment. as for oldboy true you do lose alot in translation but anything spike lee has his hands on is laughable. especially anything with any kind of suspense in it i.e. summer of sam.

The important thing to keep in mind when you are spouting all kinds of kinky business to someone online, is that if you intend to meet them in person one day you are going to have to be okay with it. Being online gives us lots of room to be the most extreme versions of ourselves, but if you don't have the cajones to back that up face-to-face you need to moderate yourself.

You touched upon some good topics. Dating on the internet seems to have much different rules than dating in person. It seems a lot easier--in the case of males--to talk about your dick like it's an art exhibit, rather than display, in person, the small, fleshy thing you call a phallus. Yet, that type of talk is considered taboo when face-to-face. My question is, how do you know what kind of talk is appropriate in a virtual setting? The rules seem to change when you aren't in front a person.

I dig your comment, and I agree with your sentiments: “Leave the awesome movies alone.” Yet, here’s the thing. In this day and age, awesome movies WILL NOT be left alone. Is this a travesty? Fuck yes. Does this suck? Damn right. But, and this is merely my opinion, we have to take into account that this is the norm. I’ll give you an example. Let the Right One In, is perhaps, one of the best vampire films in the past twenty years (Shadow of the Vampire comes to mind, but I’m sure there’s more). When it was announced that J.J Abrams would be producing a Hollywood remake, I was, of course, skeptical. But, you know what? Let Me In was pretty good. I didn’t think it was as good as Tomas Alfredson’s version, but it retained much of the story’s essence and it was damn well entertaining. Hollywood’s Oldboy could be a shell of its source material, or it could be the best imagining of it. My point is, just because a film or story is being westernized, doesn’t mean we should give it a prefatory dismissal.

Here's what I'm afraid of with the Oldboy Hollywood remake - that many of the plot elements that make the original material so emotionally intense and upsetting will be glossed over or left out entirely. Would the resolution of the film be such an emotionally devastating moment without the big reveal of just who the main character has been having a relationship with? And I can't see Hollywood producers with their uptight Western viewpoints being willing to include that in a movie they bankroll (I'm trying to explain my thoughts here without giving spoilers in case there are people out there lame enough to have not ever seen the original film or read the comic - it is proving difficult). Oldboy is an amazingly complex character study, even amidst the all out crazy graphic violence. But a lot of that is because the story takes risks that you see all the time in Asian films but not so much in Hollywood films. I can't imagine a Western remake being anywhere near to as true to the concept as the original film managed to be. There are so many awful movies in existence that they can remake (like Judge Dredd actually). I think they should focus on those and leave already awesome movies alone.
